As with anything related to the health of your child, eaa supplementation is best discussed with your pediatrician.  

The World Health Organization has determined a lower limit of intake for various age groups, with the determination that younger populations require more than adults.. makes sense right? After all they play a pivotal role in the development of so many systems, from developing healthy muscle to hormone, immune and neurological function. 

Again, its important to note these are not upper level intakes, simply suggested minimums

As for ideal dosage, many variables come into play making it extremely difficult to suggest. If your child(ren) do not consume a good amount of high quality protein in their diet, their needs will of course be greater, If your child is extremely active, the same logic applies.
